It was reported that Alro Slatina, an aluminum producer in Romania was facing the shutdown risk due to high energy costs. The firm has accumulated losses of US$40 million since the beginning of this year. Moreover, due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus, the slowdown in Romania’s economy and lower demand have affected the aluminum producer seriously.
Besides, due to decreasing turnover and rising costs, Alro Slatina had losses of 6,800 Romanian lei in 2019, compared to a net profit of 235 million Romanian lei in 2018.
