Indonesia’s largest bauxite miner PT Antam will follow government regulations on the Indonesian ban and stop exporting minerals from January 12, 2014, a senior official at the company said.
“We are still evaluating the impact to operations after the decision from the government,” the official told Metal Bulletin on Monday December 9. “Antam will follow government regulations and we will speed up the projects related to downstream industry,” he said, adding that the company will look at efficiency in operations. “All of the mining companies will follow government regulation on the ban so exports will stop January 12, 2014,” he said.
