Brazil’s aluminium imports rose by 13.5% year-on-year in September, on increased regional trade.
Brazil imported 4,420 tonnes of aluminium in the month, compared with 3,894 tonnes in September 2012, according to figures from the country’s trade minister. In January-September, exports amounted to 26,970 tonnes, from 29,624 tonnes in the corresponding period last year. Argentina was the main supplier of aluminium to Brazil, shipping 3,913 tonnes in the month, compared with 3,393 tonnes in September 2012.
