Bauxite exports from Brazil more than doubled year-on-year in September, as the USA, Ireland Canada and China all increased purchases.
Shipped volumes totalled 597,550 tonnes in the month, compared with 257,352 tonnes in September last year.
The figure, however, represents a 9.8% decrease from August, when 662,647 tonnes were exported.
Export revenue in September stood at $26.66 million, compared with $14.07 million a year earlier.
The USA increased its imports to 375,599 tonnes, from 163,161 tonnes in September 2012.
Ireland and China acquired 55,997 tonnes and 45,697 tonnes respectively, from no purchases a year earlier.
Canada imported 109,478 tonnes of bauxite, having bought 88,577 tonnes in the same month last year.
