Taxing times for Aughinish Alumina?

A report in Ireland's Sunday Independent newspaper claims that Aughinish Alumina, owned by Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, has paid just EUR1,952 corporation tax on sales of more than EUR191 million.

The plant is owned by Deripaska through UC Rusal, which is believed to be the largest aluminium producer in the world.

Between 2007 and end 2011, the company made pre-tax profits of EUR20.25 million.
