ABAL - the Brazilian Association of Aluminum informs the production of primary aluminum of October, 2012. During the month, 120 thousand tons were produced; a volume 3.6% below the volume registered in October, 2011. The accrued volume produced between January-October added-up to 1.206 thousand tons, a 0.9% growth when compared to the volume produced during the same period last year.
According to ABAL, the registered volume increase in the accrued period shows a recovery when compared to the 2011 production that was hurt because of operational adjustments of aluminum plants and, therefore, should not be understood as an increase in the installed capacity.
