Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) praised the strong economic ties that exist between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) during a recent visit to the Alba plant by senior members of ASEAN diplomatic corps based in Bahrain.
His Excellency the Malaysian Ambassador to Bahrain, Ahmed Shahzan Abd Samad, His Excellency the Thai Ambassador to Bahrain, Vichai Varasirikul, the Charge d' Affaires of Brunei Darussalam, Ahmed Haji Jumat and the Charge d' Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy, Agus Salim along with their accompanying delegation were on a goodwill visit to the Alba plant and were welcomed by Chief Executive Laurent Schmitt.
His Excellencies the Ambassadors were briefed on Alba's growth and progress for the past forty-years, the state-of-the-art production process involved in producing Alba's high grade aluminium products, and its presence in various markets of Asia and Europe.
Commenting on the visit by members of the Bahrain based ASEAN diplomatic corps, Alba's Chief Executive Laurent Schmitt said:
"Alba remains committed to increasing its footprint in Asia in general and the ASEAN countries in particular. We have recently set-up a sales office in Hong Kong to bolster our marketing efforts and tap the demands of a growing customer base in the region. It was a privilege to meet the senior diplomats and share with them the success the company experienced so far, and the confidence we have in seeing substantial growth in the coming years."
His Excellencies the ASEAN Ambassadors were later given an extended tour of the smelter and also given a presentation on Alba's environmental commitment, safety policies, and adherence to quality, corporate social responsibility initiatives as well as contribution to Bahrain's economy.
