Primary Aluminum markets were in surplus of 221,300 tonne in the first 6 months as per the latest report of World Bureau of Metal Statistics. The markets were in surplus of 516,200 tonne in the January to June 2010. For the full year 2010, the surplus of Aluminum was 1,036,000 tonne.
Production of primary Aluminum increased by 578,000 tonnes in 2010 the total rise of production was 3.9 million tonnes. Demand for Primary Aluminum was at 21.06 million tonnes in January to June 2011 this was 872,000 tonnes higher than January to June 2010. Primary Aluminum production was 3,662,400 tonne while consumption was 3,747,900 tonne in June.
Total stocks of primary Aluminum fell by 364,000 tonnes in June alone. For June, the total stocks were 6.61 million tonnes compared to 6.50 million tonnes by the end of December 2010. The total stocks are 60 days of demand.
