Daily aluminum output up in May year on year, but down from April

May global aluminum production rose to a daily average of 69,900 metric tons from 66,400 in the same month a year ago, the International Aluminum Institute reports. However, output dipped from a revised 70,300 tons daily in April.

Meanwhile, for the January-May period, global production of 69,700 tons daily was up from 65,500 tons in the same five-month period of 2010.
