Copper worth Rs1.92L looted from workshop

PUNE: Four armed suspects allegedly tied up the security guard of a workshop located on Pisoli road in Kondhwa and looted 379 kg of copper worth Rs 1.92 lakh. The incident took place during the wee hours of Friday.


A complaint has been lodged by the owner of the workshop, Rahul Vaidya of Bibvewadi, with the Haveli police station.


According to sub-inspector M K Patil of Haveli police station, the incident came to light when the security guard Muralidhar Mane's son came to the workshop on Friday morning. He found that Mane was tied up and dumped near the water tank. Mane then informed the owner Vaidya, who lodged the complaint.


According to Mane, during the wee hours of Friday four armed persons barged into the workshop. They threatened him and tied him up and dumped him near the water tank. They then looted copper wires and various copper parts worth Rs 1.92 lakh and fled the spot. "We are investigating further," Patil said.
