Bloomberg--Indonesia’s coal production is estimated to have risen 8.3 percent in 2010 from a year earlier to 275 million metric tons, the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry said in a statement today.
Refined tin output may have fallen 25 percent to 78,965 tons this year, while copper output gained 14 percent to 989,953 tons, the statement said. Indonesia is the world’s largest tin and thermal coal exporter.
Tin production may pick up to 90,000 tons next year as a recovery in the global economy boost demands for the metal used in soldering and packaging, Bambang Setiawan, director general of coal and minerals at the ministry, told reporters.
The following table shows details of Indonesia’s minerals production in 2010 based on a statement distributed to reporters in Jakarta today. The 2009 figures were based on previous statement from the energy ministry.
