The Frazee Lions ask area residents to bring their aluminum cans to the Frazee Event Center parking lot and deposit them in the yellow recycling container.
The Frazee Lions are using funds raised from recycling the cans to pay for the many projects they have throughout the year.
Mark Pergande, who became a Lions member about a year and a half ago along with his wife Debbie, built the recycle bin.
He said it took about 80 hours to build the frame, add walls and attach it to an axle for easy hauling.
"We've been collecting cans since early July and so far about 510 pounds of cans have been donated," Pergande reported.
He added the Lions get about $33 for 100 pounds of cans, which they bring to Andy's Lube who purchases them.
If depositing cans in bags, Pergande said clear plastic bags are appreciated, as it makes it easier to see if there are extra cans that can't be used, such as cat food containers.
"We can only recycle real aluminum cans," he said. "But we get a lot of cat food containers, which we don't mind because people are doing it to be nice, but we just can't recycle them."
