Azerbaijan reduces aluminum export by 78%

In Jan-Aug 2010 Azerbaijan exported 2,695.7 tons of unprocessed aluminum in amount of $1,847,000 which is a 78% decrease over Jan-Augof last year.

According to sources in the State Customs Committee, in the reported period Azerbaijan also exported 112,748.9 tons of ferrous metals in the amount of $52,335,000. Export of ferrous metals has increased by 322% compared to January-August 2009.

In 2009 Azerbaijan exported 13,441 tons of unprocessed aluminum in the amount of $12,406,000. Export of unprocessed aluminum has dropped by 78% over 2008.

45,558 tons of ferrous metals in the amount of $20,046,000 were exported in the reporting period. Export of ferrous metals in 2009 also dropped by 50.2% over 2008.
