May 20 (Bloomberg) -- Global aluminum output rose to a record 112,500 metric tons a day last month, the International Aluminium Institute said.
Daily output was 110,900 tons in March, according to data from the London-based research group. The average in January to April this year was 110,600 tons a day, compared with 95,200 tons a year earlier.
Excluding China, the world’s largest producer of the lightweight metal, the daily average climbed to 66,100 tons in April from 66,000 tons in the previous month, according to the IAI. Its members, including Alcoa Inc. and United Co. Rusal, represent 80 percent of world output, the institute’s website shows.
