Malaysian consortium bids $10b investment in CFZ

TEHRAN – A Malaysian consortium put forward a 10-billion-dollar investment bid for the establishment of a 500MW gas-fueled power plant and an aluminum mill with the annual production capacity of one million ton in Chabahar Free Zone (CFZ). In a meeting between Mohammad-Taher Baqerizadeh the managing director of the CFZ organization and the Malaysian delegation in Chabahar, the Iranian official stated that the power plant would supply the southeastern cities with electricity and the energy surplus would be exported to Pakistan and Afghanistan. According to the public relations department of the CFZ organization, the projects will create over 7,000 direct job opportunities Source: tehrantimes
