Venezuelan CVG-Bauxilum's Feb alumina output up 8.4%

Venezuelan CVG-Bauxilum's alumina output totaled 142,362 mt in February this year, up 8.4% on output of 131,362 mt in February 2007, said Bauxilum. February alumina production was also up 1.6%, on output of 140,055 mt in January. Bauxilum's bauxite production at its Pijiguaos mine totaled 300,135 mt in February, up 63.7% on output of 183,341 mt in the same period last year. February production was also up 41.8% on output of 211,680 mt in January. Bauxilum has an alumina installed capacity of about 2 million mt/year, while its bauxite capacity is between 5.5-5.7 million mt/year. Bauxilum is part of CVG's 640,000 mt/year primary aluminum complex in Puerto Ordaz, Bolivar state.
