DUBAI — Dubai Aluminium Company (DUBAL), expects to grow the volume of its sales to the Middle East and North Africa regions to 300,000 TPA by 2009, equating to a 25 per cent increase on the 240,000 tonnes supplied to these regions in 2006.
The growth will simultaneously increase the proportion of DUBAL's production volumes sold to the Middle East and North Africa from approximately 28 per cent to 33 per cent of the aluminium giant's total production. DUBAL's total production capacity, currently 861,000 tonnes per annum, is expected to reach 920,000 TPA by the end of 2008.
So said Walid Al Attar, General Manager, Marketing Department, DUBAL, announcing the company's participation at the Middle East Aluminium Exhibition, Alumex 2007, scheduled to take place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 22 to 24 April 2007. The second event of its kind, Alumex 2007 provides the local aluminium industry with a platform for showcasing their businesses, as well as a forum for networking between suppliers, clients and equipment manufacturers.
Al Attar said: "Our participation will once again demonstrate DUBAL's commitment to the growth of the industry in the region. It will also provide a valuable opportunity to showcase the potential for growth, innovation and international best practices at DUBAL.
"Additionally the event, which is dedicated to aluminium and related technologies, will allow us to interact with and support our customers and end-users - both local and international. For potential future customers of DUBAL, this will be an ideal forum to learn more about our capabilities and our current expansion plans," Al Attar added.
Running parallel to the exhibition will be a conference, which will provide a reality check on technological innovations in both extrusion and foundry, with special emphasis on applications for aluminium in the building and construction industries. Al Attar will present a general paper on the first day of the conference, entitled "DUBAL.... From Vision To Reality".
