Dubai Aluminium Company (DUBAL), the seventh largest producer of premium quality aluminium in the world, will once again be the main sponsor of the annual Ideas Arabia Conference, which is being hosted this year in Dubai under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman of Emirates Group.
Ideas Arabia 2007, which takes place on April 23 and 24, will include information sessions, workshops and a panel discussion with participation by many world- renowned experts from the US, the UK, Australia, Germany and India. The conference will again bring global experience in the suggestion systems to the Middle East and will act as a platform for people in the region to share their best practices.
The conference will be inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed, after which delegates will hear keynote address from H.E. Sultan Bin Sulayem, Chairman, DP World. Mr. Steve Holman, from the UK, will be the keynote speaker on the second day.

DUBAL has been a pioneer of Employee Suggestion Schemes in the region for many years. Over the past 26 years, the aluminium giant has achieved cumulative savings amounting to almost AED 54 million as a result of these schemes. During 2006 alone, the company implemented almost 8,000 suggestions, resulting in audited savings worth almost AED 5 million.
Ideas Arabia is a forum of companies formed under the umbrella of Dubai Quality Group, a non-profit organization, which aims to optimize and focus the effectiveness of Suggestion Scheme programmes.
A gala dinner will be held on 24 April, 2007 for the Annual Awards Presentation. The Idea of the Year competition award recognizes the most significant ideas implemented by Dubai Quality Group members throughout the calendar year. In doing so, it applauds employees for their winning ideas while acknowledging the organizations they work for.
Winners are selected in five specific categories. Each category winner and the overall winner receive an individual trophy plus a trophy to be retained by organization.
