MOSCOW-Tajikistan's aluminium smelter, the only primary aluminium producer in Central Asia, increased its output in January-February by 5.7% to 67,820 metric tons, compared with January-February 2006, when 64,180 tons was produced, the company announced Thursday.
Output in February was 32,100 tons, 5.2% more than in February 2006.
In 2006 the smelter increased its output by 9% on the year to 413,800 tons.
The smelter exports over 60% of its output to the Netherlands.
