Al-Mubarak Says Abu Dhabi May Build Aluminum Plant in Algeria

Jan. 25 -- Khaldoon al-Mubarak, chief executive officer of Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Development Co., speaks with Bloomberg's Chris Burns about the possible construction of an aluminum smelter in Algeria and the Gulf emirate's strategy to diversify its investments beyond oil.

The U.A.E., the third-largest oil producer in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, has said it plans to produce 10 percent of the world's aluminum within a decade. They speak at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
