Tajikistan Aluminum Smelter Sees 2006 Output 8% Up On Yr

Tajikistan Aluminum Smelter plans to produce about 410,000 metric tons of primary aluminum in 2006, an increase of 8% from 2005, the company announced Monday.

The smelter produced in Januay-October 343,859 tons of aluminum, 9.63% more than in the corresponding period last year.

Output in October was 36,109 tons, 8.6% more than in October 2005.

In 2005 the smelter produced 379,630 tons of aluminum, with over 60% of the total output exported to the Netherlands.
