According to statistics from Japan Aluminum Association (JAA), Japan’s output of recycled aluminum totaled 60,000 tons in May, rising by 66.8% compared to the same month a year ago; that of rolled products was 102,000 tons, up by 21.8% year on year; that of aluminum extrusions was 53,000 tons, a year-on-year hike of 24.8%.
During the period, Japan imported 117,000 tons of unwrought unalloyed aluminum, growing by 4.2% year on year. The exports of unwrought unalloyed aluminum and alloys amounted to 1,400 tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.1%.
