According to Japan Aluminium Alloy Refiners Association, the country’s demand for secondary aluminum was expected to be roughly 1.53 million tons in the fiscal year 2021 (April 2021-March 2022), growing by 9.6% compared to the previous year.
Due to the recovery of domestic automotive output in Japan, the demand for castings and die casting will rise by 5.9% and 13.4% respectively, reaching around 303,000 tons and 926,000 tons; the demand for aluminum sheets, strips, and extrusions will keep stable; the demand for deoxidizers used in steel production will hike by 8.4% year on year to 101,600 tons.
