Japanese aluminium demand down in H1

Japanese aluminium shipments and output posted a third year of declines in the first half period ended September 30 despite strong demand from the construction sector.

Production for the first six months of the fiscal year fell 1.9% compared with the corresponding period to 978,718 tonnes, while shipments fell by 1.9% to 978,660 tonnes, according to the Japan Aluminium Association.
