Reuters reported that term premiums on aluminum shipments to Japan for January to March will likely ease as domestic demand is slowing after devastating floods in Thailand caused many Japanese firms to curb output of consumer goods using parts made in Thailand.

Traders said that Japan consumes around 2 million tonnes per year of aluminum equivalent to about 5% of global demand.
