Toyota Motor Corp. is investing $2.1 million in its Bodine Aluminum Tennessee Inc. facility to modify and upgrade existing equipment at the Jackson plant.
The investment will create 10 new jobs.
Bodine Aluminum builds transmission case and housing for Toyota vehicles. The plant has a sister facility in Troy, Mo., where Toyota (NYSE: TM) is investing $6 million in upgrades. Both facilities supply parts for Toyota’s production facility in West Virginia.
“This $2 million investment at our plant and the $6 million investment at Bodine in Troy allows full utilization of our transmission die cast machines and helps ensure that we provide employment security to our team members,” Jason Bates, Bodine Aluminum administration manager, said in a statement.
