According to Japan Aluminum Association, Japanese rolled aluminum operation rate reached 83.9% in 2010 which reached 80% for the first time in 2 years and increased for the first time in 4 years.
The operation rate was lifted when extrusion operation rate increased by more than 10 percentage points from 2009 while the makers reduced the capacity. The rate was lower than recent peak of 81.8% in 2006.
