TOKYO, Dec 27 (Reuters) - Japan's refined copper exports fell 11.4 percent in November from a year earlier to 34,233 tonnes, with 42 percent of that going to China, Ministry of Finance data showed on Monday.
Demand for copper, used in utensils, construction materials and computer chips, is often seen as a gauge of economic activity. China's share of copper exports from Japan has held around 40 percent. China is the world's top consumer of copper. Taiwan was the second-largest importer of copper, accounting for about 27 percent of exports from Japan in November.
Indonesia and Thailand are also key markets for Japan's copper.
