The global aluminum surplus may narrow by 23 percent in 2011 from this year, Japanese trading company Marubeni Corp. said.
The surplus of primary aluminum will decrease to 1.30 million metric tons from 1.69 million estimated for this year, Marubeni said in a report today.
Global aluminum demand will rise 7.5 percent to 43 million tons next year, while supply will expand 6.2 percent to 44.2 million tons, said Marubeni, Japan’s largest importer of the metal used for cars and houses.
