Tokyo (Platts)-Japan's aluminium sheet and extrusion shipment in September 2006 had risen by 0.4% year on year for second consecutive month to 196,243 mt, data of Japan Aluminium Association showed.
In the previous months of July and August, the sheet and extrusion shipment had fallen on weak beer can stock demand. The beer can materials stay weak but the demand for automotive, machinery and electronics sectors has boosted the overall shipment, the association said.
The September sheet shipment was 109,663 mt, up 0.4% year on year. The extrusion shipment was 86,580 mt, up 0.3%.
