It was reported that India is working on promoting the R&D investment in new vehicle batteries which use aluminum as a key ingredient to decrease the dependence on imported materials and technology.
Indian Oil, a major oil refiner in India, and Phinergy, a clean energy company in Israel, are working together to develop aluminum-air batteries.
Dr. SSV Ramakumar, R&D director of Indian Oil, said that due to the lack of lithium resources in India, Indian Oil began to look for an alternative metal element with more sufficient reserves.
