Century Aluminum, a US-based primary aluminum producer, reported that its shipment of primary aluminum amounted to 190,000 tons in the second quarter of this year, sliding by 2% compared to the previous quarter.
Among them, the shipment to the US was 113,000 tons, dropping by 3.1% quarter on quarter; that to Iceland totaled 78,000 tons, down by 1.5% from the first quarter.
The decrease in Century Aluminum's second-quarter primary aluminum shipment was due to the fact that the supply chain interference affected the progress at Mt. Holly aluminum smelter's production resumption.
