Vedanta, an aluminum producer in India, reported that its aluminum production totaled nearly 550,000 tons in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2022, hiking by 17% compared to the same period a year ago.
During the period, Vedanta’s cast metal aluminum production, including trial run, at its aluminum smelters at Jharsuguda and BALCO amounted to 549,000 tons, growing by 3% from the previous quarter and also rising by 17% year on year. The increase was mainly due to the ramp-up of its potlines.
