The metal market in India has been also highly affected by the sanitary crisis of COVID-19, which provoked directly an obvious decline in its demands. This impact occurred due to a global obligatory quarantine since this March.
Therefore, since this April, Hindalco Industries Ltd., one of the main aluminum producers in India, has risen its export rate by 15% to 65% in comparison with the same period of last year. In addition, Satish Pai, the director manager of this company, has affirmed the enterprise expected to export more aluminum products to the foreign marketplace during the April-June quarter. As per him, he wanted to increase the rate to almost 80%.
According to statistics, Hindalco produced around 1.3 million tons of aluminum products last year. The main recipient countries were South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, the US, Brazil, and Japan.
