National Aluminium Company (Nalco) on Monday said the company expects alumina prices to remain firm in the coming days.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, TK Chand, chairman-cum-managing director, said, "Our latest shipment price is $580.5 per tonne, it's $50.5 per tonne more than what the price was on August 1 2018. So, it is around 10 percent increase in the price within 15 days."
Chand said, "The increase is because bauxite prices have increased in China and also there are some restrictions in China refinery. At the same time, there is a cost support, because caustic soda prices have become around 41,000 plus. So, these two factors are pulling the prices up."
