PTI reported that continuing its slide, Indian copper prices fell further by 0.26% in futures trade as speculators engaged in reducing their positions.
Subdued demand at the domestic spot market also put some pressure on the copper prices at futures trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June fell by INR 1.25 or 0.26% to INR 404.25 per kilogram with a business turnover of 11,253 lots. It had closed 1.5% lower at INR 405.50 per kilogram in yesterday's trade.
The metal for delivery in August lost INR 1.30 or 0.25% to INR 409.70 per kilogram with a trade volume of 752 lots.
Market analysts said that a weak trend at the domestic spot markets due to sluggish demand from consuming industries and absence of any positive cue from global market mainly put pressure on the copper prices at futures trade.
