BL reported that with growing demand from the automobile segment, the aluminium castings industry is expected to grow at 18% in the years to come which is currently growing at 12%.
Mr Prasan Firodia president of Aluminium Casters Association of India said that “To cater to the growing demand, the industry is embarking on major expansion and technology initiatives. And almost all companies are investing in ramping up their capacities.”
He said that over INR 1,000 crore worth of investments are being made in capacity ramp up across foundries in the country.
ACAI launched its 8th trade exhibition and conference Alucast 2010. The three day expo will see about 150 exhibitors comprising foundries and other stakeholders showcasing their products and technologies. The theme of the exhibition is Going Global and a buyer seller export meet is also planned under this show to meet the emerging needs.
