Vedanta’s Balco Unit Calls Bids to Operate 1,200 MW Power Plant

June 29 (Bloomberg) -- Vedanta Resources Plc’s Bharat Aluminium Co. has called bids to operate a 1,200-megawatt coal- fired power plant it is building in eastern India, according to an advertisement in India’s Economic Times today.


The company, known as Balco, is seeking bids for the operation and maintenance of four units of 300 megawatts each at its aluminum complex at Korba in Chhattisgarh state.


Submission of offers is open for 10 days starting today, according to the advertisement.
