Vedanta Aluminium Says Global Aluminum Market to Be in Surplus

Feb. 25 (Bloomberg) -- Vedanta Aluminium Ltd., a unit of India’s largest copper producer, said the global market for the metal will be in a “surplus” this year.

Aluminum consumption in India may grow 8 percent in 2010, and by 15 percent in China, the biggest producer and consumer of the metal, Executive Director Pankaj Khanna told an industry conference in Mumbai today.
