PARIS--Alcan Aluminium Inc. would be interested in bidding for Falconbridge's plants in the U.S. which could be sold by the company's new owner, mining group Xstrata PLC, Alcan's chief Dick Evans said in an interview with French business daily Les Echos Wednesday.
"We don't know if those assets are for sale. But if this were the case, we would look at it," Evans said.
Alcan will also try to grow its aeronautics business, which represents about 7% of its revenue, notably by setting up a network of Airbus part suppliers or even acquiring some of them, Evans said.
