Bloomberg Jan 26--The following companies had unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 4:11 p.m. New York time.
The Lima General Index fell 0.6 percent to 21,735.14. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index dropped 1 percent to 2,975.46.
Copper shares declined after the metal slumped in New York, said Leoncio Altamirano, a trader at Lima-based Juan Magot y Asociados SAB.
Alturas Minerals Corp. (ALT PE), a Canadian copper exploration company, plunged 8.7 percent to 21 cents. Candente Copper Corp. (DNT PE), a Canadian exploration company, fell 5.7 percent to $2.17. Southern Copper Corp. (SCCO PE), Peru’s biggest copper producer, dropped 3.8 percent to $43.30. Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde SA (CVERDEC1 PE), a unit of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., fell 3.6 percent to $47.
Gold miners dropped after futures declined to a three-month low in New York.
Rio Alto Mining Ltd. (RIO PE), a Canadian gold exploration company, fell 2.3 percent to $2.17. Gold Fields La Cima SA (LACIMAC1 PE), a unit of Gold Fields Ltd., slid 1.2 percent to 3.36 soles. Cia. de Minas Buenaventura SAA (BVN PE), the country’s biggest precious-metals miner, dropped 1.7 percent to $40.50.
