Norsk Hydro plans to increase aluminum prices

It is reported that Norwegian aluminum company Norsk Hydro plans to increase its quotations for aluminum products since the second quarter of 2011.


It is expected that increase for strips and sheets of thickness 0.3mm to 1.99 mm will be within the range of EUR 30 per tonne to EUR 600 per tonne. For thicker rolled aluminum products it is expected a stable growth.


As for the first quarter of 2011, analysts say a surplus of around one million ton is going to be present in the market.


In Q3 2010 Norsk Hydro received operational profit NOK 965 million while in the same period of 2009 it has got operational loss of NOK 793 million.


Norsk Hydro is engaged in aluminum production, hydropower and sun power. It operates in more than 30 countries and has a stuff over 25 thousand employees.
