The primary and secondary copper producer Aurubis has closed its business year 2009/10 with strong growth in turnover and earnings. The Hamburg-based group reported that the increased copper price raised its turnover from €6.7bn to €9.9bn in the year ended 30 September. Earnings before interest and tax (Ebit) jumped from €111m to €286m. The company's recycling and precious metals business unit achieved record production levels and recorded growth in sales from €2bn to €3.4bn, with Ebit rising from €41.6m to €59.3m. The outlook for the current year remains positive, according to Aurubis.
