Ukraine's Jan-June Aluminum, Alumina Output Down On Year

Ukraine produced in January-June 817,324 metric tons of alumina, 1.2% less than in January-June 2006, the economic policy ministry reports Monday. Ukraine's two alumina producers, the Nikolaev Alumina Plant and the Zaporozhsky Aluminum Combine, are controlled by the United Company Rusal. Ukraine's primary aluminum output in January-June fell by 0.4% on the year to 56,171 tons, all produced by the Zaporozhsky Aluminum Combine. Ukraine's alumina output in June was 137,500 tons, 0.2% down on year, and primary aluminum output in June increased by 3.9% on the year to 9,282 tons.
