MOSCOW --Ukraine exported 119,430 metric tons of alumina in January, an increase of 2.8% compared with January 2006 and 1.7% less than in December 2006, the state statistics committee reported Wednesday.
Ukraine's main alumina producer is Nikolayevsky Alumina plant, controlled by Rusal. Export to Rusal's Russian aluminum smelters in January accounted for 99.7% of Ukraine's total alumina export.
