DUSHANBE, December 20. KAZINFORM. - A Norwegian company intends to buy 800,000 metric tons of primary aluminum from a Tajik plant in the next four years, a vice president of Hydro Aluminum said Wednesday.
Simon Storesund said after talks with Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov that his company will help the Tajik Aluminum Plant increase its technical efficiency and improve the environmental situation.
He also said Hydro Aluminum is considering projects on the construction of additional hydroelectric power facilities and a new aluminum plant.
In 2005, Tajikistan produced 379,000 tons of primary aluminum and intends to produce 420,000 tons in 2006, Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
