According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, China’s exports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products totaled around 475,000 tons in May, down by 29.7% compared to the same month a year ago. Imports of these products were around 192,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%.
In the first five months of this year, China totally exported 2.32 million tons of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products, sliding by 20.2% year on year. Imports grew by 10.3% year on year to 989,000 tons.
In May, China’s alumina exports totaled 110,000 tons, sliding by 41.6% year on year. The five-month exports amounted to 490,000 tons, a year-on-year growth of 29.5%.
