According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), China produced a total of around 16.71 million tons of electrolytic aluminum in the first five months of this year, up by 3.4% compared to the same period a year ago.
During the period, China’s aluminum alloy production was 5.36 million tons, a year-on-year increase of nearly 16%. Aluminum product output amounted to 24.63 million tons, up by 4% year on year.
In May alone, China’s electrolytic aluminum production was up by 1.1% to 3.42 million tons, aluminum alloy production grew by 15.1% to 1.21 million tons, and aluminum product output hiked by 4.1% to 5.43 million tons, all on a year-on-year basis.
