China’s National Development and Reform Commission issued a notice about the improvement of the tiered electricity price policy for the electrolytic aluminum industry in China, forbidding the implementation of preferential electricity price policy for the electrolytic aluminum industry.
The decision was to encourage the electrolytic aluminum industry to increase the utilization of non-aqueous renewable energy such as wind power and solar energy generation, as well as reduce fossil energy consumption.
The notice will be implemented from January 1, 2022.
