Aluminum Import Monitoring and Analysis System to start on Jun 28

   The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) confirmed most requirements of the new Aluminum Import Monitoring and Analysis (AIM) system and published a confirmed date of June 28, 2021 as the start date to make the system effective, and other sections will be postponed to June 28, 2022.

  The AIM system will require importers, customs brokers, or agents to apply for import licenses for imports of certain aluminum products into the US market through the AIM system website. The request for licenses applies to all basic aluminum products imports.
